Clean water

West Virginia need to continue to expand water works to rural areas until all West Virginians have access to clean safe drinking water.  Also make sure that fire hydrants are included in these expansions.

 

Safe neighborhoods

·        Police; make available to police agencies the equipment necessary to exchange information and work together, also work with Marshall University Forensic Science program to establish a lab to assist the states overloaded forensic lab.

·        Fire; work with fire departments to develop a incentive programs for recruitment and retention of firefighters, also use the states Department of Highways facilities to ascertaining at reduced or a limited amount of fuels at no cost for fire apparatus.

·        EMS; work with County Commissions to expand EMS until we have 10 minute response times to all West Virginians.

 

Affordable health care

The only people who do not have health care are middle income families.  Affordable health care is a complex issue and will require a multifaceted approach to insure all West Virginians have health care.

 

Jobs and the Economy

We need quality jobs that have good pay and benefits.  An example of this is the Toyota plant in Buffalo WV. We use our natural resources woods, water, rail, coal, etc. to entice industries to locate in West Virginia. 

We Partner with Marshall University and our technical schools to assist us in the creation of research and technical jobs.

We also need to protect the jobs we have and work to keep them in this great state.

 

Education

Good clean safe neighborhood schools.  We need to support our teachers and service personal.  They are the ones in the trenches and understand the problems and we can work with them for the cures necessary to better protect and educate our children.

 

Assistance to Seniors

Seniors have to have affordable health care, housing assistance, affordable prescriptions, just to name a few items of importance.

 

Assistance to our Veterans

We must make sure our veterans are taken care of when they return from duty.  They also need to have job protections when they are called to duty.  We need to make sure their families are cared for while they are protecting our country.  

 

We need change

We need to start thinking outside the box when it comes to this state.

Invest in and work with our colleges and universities especially in technology.  We use our bio technology innovations to assist in new developments like a coal gasification plants. We use clean coal technology and assist business and industry in marketing our states resources.  We must partner with our universities to grow our technology base along with higher education to assist us with the information we need to attract business and industry to our state.
